Celebrating a Lifetime Commitment to Students
Dean Helene Dillard has remained incredibly dedicated to student success throughout her tenure. In partnership with the associate dean of undergraduate academic programs, she improved academic advising services and increased the ratio of students to advisors within the college and embedded a mental health counselor in the program. She elevated experiential learning both in and outside the classroom and expanded dean’s circle funding to provide financial support for field trips, service learning and external research at the Bodega Marine Laboratory.
Thanks to the generosity of UC Davis alumnus Mark Couchman ’80 in honor of Dillard’s legacy, we’ve established the Helene R. Dillard Student Success Fund to strengthen student success, advising and experiential learning opportunities for students in the college who face unexpected financial barriers. This fund will allow future deans to support a range of critical student programs ensuring generations of Aggies receive the best possible education and start to their careers.
Dean Dillard has provided extraordinary leadership to the college over the past 11 years. Her commitment to student success, hands on learning and industry collaboration have been key tenants of her vision that will continue to advance CA&ES for years to come. It was my honor to help establish a fund celebrating her legacy.”
